Hilary Duff Felt Judged For Having a Baby 'Too Soon'

Hilary Duff feels like she was looked down upon in Hollywood for starting a family so young.

The 29-year old actress, who gave birth to her son Luca at age 24, explained the double standard surrounding women and mothers while making an appearance on The Talk.

“I feel like I was judged for having a baby too soon and getting married too soon, and now I’m pigeonholed for being a ‘mom’” she said.

Hilary added, “But then lots of women in the industry that don’t have a child yet are judged for not having a child and it’s crazy that women, we are the most in-demand and the most desirable, but the most judged and the hardest on one another. You know, [there’s] so much scrutiny. Nobody cares about men’s personal lives as much as women’s.”

Yes, having a baby too soon, getting married too soon…and divorcing too soon, being a single mum too soon. What’s problem here?

Actually, no one cared then and no one cares now.

“The most desirable”, you think overly highly of yourself there cupcake. Millions find you repulsive because of that attitude. Others just don’t find you desirable once you are married. It’s kind of a switch.

I do however agree that liberal, feminist, twits are the most judgmental, scrutinizing, and hateful people. You are one of them, and you chose the industry. So please, STFU.

They are called, “Hillary’s Feelings”, because Hillary is the only one who cares about them. They are not for sharing with anyone you are not related to or having sex with.

Hilary Duff gets so a hard time because she does not toe the feminist line. You are meant to adopt or use donor eggs at 40+.

If you are 29 and married then it is not too soon. If you are unmarried, then it is definitely too soon.

  • timmaguire

So long as we’re clear about who it is who’s doing the judging. (I don’t mean women, I mean liberal women–this is not a misogyny problem, it is a liberal hypocrisy problem.)

  • Kate Pear

people’s judgement is just being wasted thats all . I mean most people tend to get kids in 20′s and 30′s and some ppl divorce . its pointless to judge them. If they are teenager then yeah make sense to make a huge deal out of it because they teens arent too responsible for anything.

You’re missing the point. I do not judgement. Let stupids be stupids.
This is about the thoughtlessness. Why is it good for children bringing up by single mums or rotating stepfathers? Why is it good to be a single mum with small chance to find a new man and happiness, just like Michelle Williams complained. Where are the single fathers as much burden on their neck as much on a woman’s neck? What does a child (mainly the boys) learn about the family, the marrriage and being a father, husband from a single mum and a father visiting him 3 times a year?
Many of these children as an adult or hate the marriage, family either just stick to a marriage, even to a bad, wife-beating, child-abusing, alcoholist sproused marriage with nails and tooth, because they did not have real family and even much earlier have children (many times as teen), because they “want to give the child a real family” which they never had instead of studying, working, earning money, being useful members of the socialite, and the many of these girls brought up without father will have father complex, and will choose old, 60 years old men as husband, lover, just because they see the never had father in old men, just because the old men caress their softy heads and can cry on their shoulders. Why it is good? Normal person with healthy mental and soul DOES NOT chooses a grandfather as a partner, husband, lover, children’s dad!
