Marlon Brando's Son Defends Him Against Rape Accusations

Miko Brando, the oldest living son of the late Marlon Brando, is defending his father after he was accused of raping Last Tango in Paris co-star Maria Schneider during a famous scene in the movie.

In a recently surfaced interview, the film’s director Bernardo Bertolucci said that Maria was not warned that Marlon would be using butter as a lubricant for the scene. He wanted to have her react with surprise and he says he does not regret his decision.

Bertolucci has since released a statement to clarify his comments.

“It’s horrendous,” Miko said (via TMZ). “That’s not my father. He wasn’t that man. At all. He was for human rights, civil rights. He marched with Martin Luther King. He was for the people, not against the people.”

“It’s not true. It’s 40 years ago, but why are they bringing it up now? It’s not true. That’s not the human being he is,” Miko added.

In regards to the director, Miko said, “I think he speaks for himself.”
