Andrew Dorff Dead - Stephen Dorff's Brother & Prominent Country Songwriter Dies at 40

This is so sad – Andrew Dorff, the brother of actor Stephen Dorff and a prominent songwriter in the country world – has passed away at the age of 40.

No cause of death or details of his passing has been revealed. Andrew wrote songs for Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney and Hunter Hayes, among others.

His hits include Blake‘s “My Eyes” and “Neon Light” and Kenny‘s “Save It for a Rainy Day,” and “Somebody’s Heartbreak.”

NSAI President Lee Thomas Miller said in a statement (via Gossip Cop). “It is with immeasurable grief that we learn of the passing of our friend Andrew Dorff. Our songwriting community is small and close and this loss will hurt us all deeply. Andrew was a good man and a good friend. He was an elite songwriter at the peak of his life and career. Our sincerest prayers go out to his family. May we all hug each other a little tighter this week and remember that life is fragile. Rest in peace Andrew.”

Our thoughts are with Andrew‘s loved ones during this time.
