Jon Voight Says 'God Answered All Our Prayers' at Trump's Inauguration Concert

Jon Voight was definitely not speaking on behalf of everyone in the country when he said that “God answered all our prayers” during a speech at President-elect Donald Trump‘s inauguration concert.

The 78-year-old Oscar-winning actor, who has been one of Trump‘s biggest supporters from the campaign to the election, was the first speaker at the event on Thursday afternoon (January 19) in Washington, D.C.

“This is some day,” Jon said (via Deadline). “Dear friends and fellow Americans, I’m so honored to be here to welcome you all to the inauguration of the 45th president of the United States, Donald J. Trump. It’s been a very grueling year and a half for the president-elect.”

“He certainly didn’t need this job,” Jon added. “And God answered all of our prayers, because here it is. We will all be part of history.”

The event took place at the Lincoln Memorial and Jon said that Abraham Lincoln would surely be “smiling, knowing America will be saved by a good and honest man.”
