The band consists of members of the Rees family including 12-year-old trumpet playing twins Max and Kolbe.

Other members include their siblings Angelle, Marie, Giovanni, Mollie and their oldest sister Katie, who helped teach many of her siblings their instruments.

According to the group’s official website, they honed their skills busking on the sidewalks of Nashville, New Orleans and Pensacola.

Weird how ? I thought they played pretty good

These kids did a terrific job! I’d like to see some of their critics here try to do the same thing on stage, lol.

This band, while excellent for their age levels, playing James Brown’s “I Feel Good” is like Faith Hill singing Erma Franklin and Janis Joplin’s “Take a Piece of My Heart.” I wish they would have picked a different piece of music for which they might have been better suited. Again, in no way am I saying they are bad, that just wasn’t the right fit for them. They would have been way better off doing Kool and the Gang’s “Celebration”. That would actually work with their talent.

Donald Trump was scorned by the A-Listers, so he made lemonade! The version of Soul Man collaborated on by the original singer, now 81 year old Sam Moore (of the 60s duo, Sam and Dave) and the Kid Band Pelican 212 was a delight. Sam had expressed his disgust with the arrogant attitude of the A-Listers and he showed up. And they paired him up with this incredible kids’ band. The two 12 year old twins were stupendous (another trumpeter, their sister was equally a delight, btw). And they worked beautifully together, Southern whites and a black 60s Music Legend..

This article, btw, identifies the two boys as Max and Kolbe. That suggests the twins had been named together after a great 20th Century Saint of the Catholic Church, Maximilian Kolbe, a priest who had been imprisoned by the Nazis at Auschwitz but then sacrificed himself in place of another prisoner. They were great!.

I’m sorry your dad beat your mom so now you hate women. I’m sorry your mom was shitty to you and verbally abused you. I’m sorry that as a boy you were told not to cry. Crying is a human emotion not a feminine one. I’m sorry you think it’s cooler to be dumb than to be smart. Life is going to be very hard for you. I hope you find a book that helps. They fuck you up is a good one.
Pence is gay, he got with my friend and likes it doggy style and then in the mouth. It’s always the ones who point the fingers the loudest, right. Sweet Jesus those poor kids.

This is why Trump’s victory was so necessary.

Ok I think you might Be answering someone else’s post. All I did was a question. If my question elicited such a vile, insulting, venomous answer, I think you have some personal issues that need to be resolved. If your taking medication I suggest that you stop skipping days since doing that seems to be affecting your responses. If you are not taking medication then I suggest you seek professional help.

Not necessary, but without question inevitable.

  • catinthemachine

What in the world are you talking about? You seem to be determined to exemplify why it was inevitable that Trump won the presidency. What I find the most interesting is that you also seem to be on the same wave-length as Trump. He also pulls nonsense out of thin air. SMH

I agree that they played well, I just don’t think it was the right piece of music for them. I am by no means a purist when it comes to covers but it was hard to listen to such a very vanilla version of a James Brown song.

  • Old Devil dog

Fair enough. It’s a matter taste. Maybe it’s a question of repertoire. The hard thing is to find songs that fit their the instruments they want to highlight ( trumpets) . Also it must be taken into account what are their taste in music. If that is the music they listen to at home and they like it that what they are going to play.

  • catinthemachine

It is difficult to think of these young people listening to James Brown who was also known as the “Godfather of Soul”. Admittedly, it’s a biased opinion. And since I don’t have an alternative for them, I’m just going to shush. :)
