Eva Amurri Explains Why She Stopped Breastfeeding Her Son
The 31-year-old actress is speaking out in hopes of taking away the stigma of choosing not to breastfeed your child until the recommended age of at least a year old.
“While we were in the hospital with him, and in the next couple of weeks, my milk supply dipped big time,” Eva said.
“But then, my post-partum anxiety began, and my milk supply has been so troubled ever since. On ‘good days’ it was fine, and Major would be able to easily get a robust and full feeding from me– but then on the bad days or weeks when I was having a hard time emotionally, my supply would suffer,” Eva said. “What made this even worse is how much I would blame myself for it all. I would put so much pressure on myself to battle the anxiety so that my son’s food source wouldn’t suffer.”
