Mercedes-Benz Super Bowl 2017 Commercial Spoofs 'Easy Rider'

Mercedes-Benz has taken on the 1969 film Easy Rider in a spoof for their 2017 Super Bowl Commercial, directed by the Coen brothers, Joel and Ethan.

The ad starts out with a biker bar patron putting a quarter in the jukebox to select the song “Born To Be Wild” by Steppenwolf, as the camera pans to a quick shot of a movie poster for Easy Rider.

A drunken bar fight ensues, then another biker barges in and says, “Blocked in.” All the bikers rush outside to see the new Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster blocking in their motorcycles.

Peter Fonda, who starred in the Easy Rider movie, walks up and says “Nice rides” before getting in the car. A female biker says, “Still lookin’ good,” as he drives off.
