'Split' Tops Weekend Box Office, Beating Out Third 'Rings' Film

M. Night Shyamalan‘s horror flick Split continues its box office reign with $14.5 million!

The film, starring James McAvoy, is nearing the $100 million mark domestically, according to THR.

Taking the second spot was the horror flick Rings, the third of the franchise, starring Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, and Aimee Teegarden, which debuted to $13 million.

Coming in at No. 3 was the controversial film A Dog’s Purpose, starring Britt Robertson and KJ Apa, which earned an additional $10 million.

Rounding out the top five were Hidden Figures and La La Land, which earned $10.1 million and $7.4 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, Britt and Asa Butterfield‘s new flick The Space Between Us opened to $3.8 million.
