In the live-action film, the Beast allows Belle to say goodbye to her father and she tricks him by pushing Maurice out of the cell and locking herself in instead. In the animated version, she verbally asks to take her father’s place and when the Beast agrees, he drags Maurice out of the cell and doesn’t let her say goodbye.
