Rupert Sanders Calls His Affair with Kristen Stewart a 'Momentary Lapse'

Rupert Sanders is speaking out about his affair with Kristen Stewart nearly five years after it made headlines.

The 46-year-old director was spotted kissing Kristen in July 2012, when he was still married to former wife Liberty Ross and while she was dating Robert Pattinson.

Rupert directed Kristen in the movie Snow White and the Huntsman, which was released in theaters just one month prior to the scandal.

While promoting his new movie Ghost in the Shell, Rupert was asked to comment on the affair and what he learned from the media coverage.

“You never know what’s coming in life. Around every corner there’s something unexpected, and that’s life. You just have to brush yourself off and continue moving forward the best you can. Everyone makes mistakes. I am bound to make more mistakes, and I wouldn’t expect my life to be exciting if I didn’t,” he told Metro.

When asked if he was worried that the scandal would hurt his career, he said, “If you took people off the table for a momentary lapse, there would be no one making art.”
