Sigourney Weaver Gives 'Avatar 2' Update on Shoot Dates, Scripts & More!
Sigourney Weaver and Michelle Rodriguez pose for photos at the premiere of The Assignment held at the Whitby Hotel on Monday (April 3) in New York City.
Also in attendance at the premiere were director Walter Hill, as well as actresses Lena Hall and America Olivo.
At the event, Sigourney was asked to give an update on the Avatar sequels.
“We’re starting!” Sigourney told THR. “We’re starting training, and we’re starting ” hmm, I probably can’t say anything. We will be actually shooting it by the fall.”
“I’m telling you, these scripts are so amazing, I’m not worried about [disappointing fans] at all,” she added. “Am I worried about how we’re going to bring them to life? Yes, because they’re so ambitious. They’re so worth it. They’re well worth waiting for. I’m not worried about that at all. We’re trying to get it done as quickly as possible.”
The first Avatar came out in 2009, and fans have been anxiously awaiting the sequels.
