Jimmy Kimmel Calls Out United Airlines For Forcibly Removing Customer from Overbooked Flight - Watch Here!
Jimmy Kimmel called out United Airlines on Monday’s episode (April 10) of Jimmy Kimmel Live! after a man was forcibly removed from a flight on Sunday night (April 9) because the company overbooked the plane.
“That’s how my mother used to have to get me out of bed to go to school,” the 49-year-old host joked, watching the video footage. “I don’t even understand this, by the way. I’ve been to 100 games in stadiums with 50,000 seats, they never sell the seat two times to one person, but for some reason, airlines cannot figure this out.”
After the controversy, United Airlines sent out a statement that Jimmy also mocked.
“This might be the worst part of all of it. This is what the CEO tweeted…. ‘This is an upsetting event to all of us here at United. I apologize for having to re-accommodate these customers,’” read Jimmy. “That’s right. He said, ‘re-accommodate.’ Just like we re-accommodated El Chapo out of Mexico.”
“That is such, sanitized, say-nothing, take-no-responsibility, corporate BS speak. I don’t know how the guy who sent that tweet didn’t vomit when he typed it out,” Jimmy continued.
