Here's How Beyonce Helped Gal Gadot Land 'Wonder Woman' Role!

Gal Gadot is stunning for her W magazine cover shoot for the May 2017 issue.

Here’s what the 32-year-old Wonder Woman star had to share with the mag:

On initially being asked to audition for a Bond girl in Quantum of Solace: “I said, ‘No way.’ I said, ‘I’m studying law and international relations. I’m way too serious and smart to be an actress, and besides, the script is all in English.’ I spoke English, but I wasn’t comfortable with it.”

On her Wonder Woman audition: “When I auditioned for Batman v Superman, I didn’t know it was for Wonder Woman. The director, Zack Snyder, asked me to do a camera test. That was torture. They were looking at six or seven girls, and we were all in separate trailers and were told to stay inside until they called us. Waiting is my enemy Number One, and I was losing my mind. So, I decided to put on Beyoncé. Who runs the world? Girls! I just started to dance, and I let my anxiety go. Thank you, Beyoncé!”

On why there was backlash to her Wonder Woman casting: “Cause my boobs were too small…Yeah—that was a big problem. The Web really paid attention to the important side of Wonder Woman.”

Nah Gal, most of the criticism I saw was because you’re too damn scrawny and can’t act for shit. Boobs were secondary. Too smart and serious to be an actor? seriously?? that’s cute.

Maybe you should check out a comic book or something. Wonder Woman is hardly ever portrayed as being big. Her powers are magic based. She doesn’t need big muscles. Hell even in the animated Wonder Woman movie, she isn’t big at all. As for her acting, she will do fine. WW is not a very complicated character to play. Plus Patty Jenkins is a great director. I’m sure she will bring out the best in Gadot.

No Gal, that’s not why you were criticized, it’s because you never really proved yourself as an actress and WW is a pretty important character to leave to someone that has yet to convince a whole lot of people.

But…. she trained and looks more than fine for the role now. Also I don’t recall anyone being this upset when Chris Hemsworth was cast as Thor though he too hadn’t been proven to be a great actor either and the same can be said about Chris Evans to a lesser extent.

Also I am sure she was being facetious with that statement no need to over analyze it.

Superman’s powers are a result of the sun, yet he’s always bulked as hell. Thor’s powers are not all muscle related, same thing. WW is depicted with muscle tone and strength, not 100lbs dripping wet.
That you don’t think Diana/WW is a complex or complicated character is mind-boggling, but in defending GG’s casting, in essence you end up agreeing with me – I state GG can’t act, you’re defence of her is that it’s not a difficult role, thus by extension agreeing she can’t handlechallenging roles. Don’t get me wrong, I WANT WW to be good – not least because if it bombs it’ll be used to justify keeping female led action movies out of production – but after BvS and SS, I hold out little hope, especially as GG will be largely carrying the film and I don’t think she’s got the chops at all, which Im more than allowed to think. Will it make money? Sure, because its a DC film. Will it be good? we’ll see.

In the comics men superheroes are almost always portrayed with big muscles. Women not so much. Gal looks fine as WW. People would have found something to bitch about no matter who they cast. No I don’t agree with you on her acting. I can’t say she’s good or bad really. The only movie I have seen her in is BvS. She did fine IMO. She was one of the best parts of that movie. I hope WW is good as well. The last trailer was great. I can’t say I’m not a little nervous after SS though. I didn’t hate BvS as much as others. The extended cut was pretty good. It could and should have been so much better though. Also, what makes WW such a complex character? She is just pretty much a female warrior who doesn’t understand the ways of our society. Which I’m sure will be some of the funnier parts of the film.

I barely saw anyone talking about her boobs. It was her weight which in the beginning was a problem. Idk what others are talking about but yes Wonder woman was curvier but she wasn’t a stick either.

  • Cooper

When was Wonder Woman ever portrayed as a stick? She has always been an Amazon and amazonian woman have always been portrayed as larger, muscle, curvier woman. You are just flat out wrong.

  • Cooper

From what I understand Hemsworth proved himself in Australia. Just because he wasn’t big in America doesn’t mean he wasn’t elsewhere. Stop living in the American bubble. Look at Priyanka Chopra. She is huge in Bollywood but just a blip in the US. It doesn’t mean she is unproven it just means she is unknown to us.

The same can be said about Gal for her Israeli acting. You sound bitter or like you can only see one side of the coin.

  • jh7058622

And btw he v was only on b a crappy Australian soap. You sound soo biased it’s not even funny.
