Sandra Bullock Gives $5,000 to Struggling Former Pool Manager

Sandra Bullock has donated $5,000 to Svend Petersen, who formerly served as pool manager of the Beverly Hills Hotel for 40 years.

The 52-year-old actress came across the 86-year-old’s GoFundMe page (started by his friend) and wanted to help him out during his tough time, reportedly caused by realtors who cheated him into selling his house at an unfair price and subsequent trouble with the IRS.

“Sometimes I go three or four days without food,” Svend explained in an interview with CBS-2, “As long as I have something to drink, I’m happy.”

The GoFundMe page’s original goal was to raise around $5,900 to help him secure an apartment in Los Angeles and buy groceries. The campaign has now reached over $33,000 in 11 days.

Along with her donation, Sandra included the message, “‘Everything is going to be ok!’ Louis Bullock (My son).”
