Avatar's Four Sequels Get Official Release Dates

The four sequels of the smash hit movie Avatar have official release dates and fans can look forward to seeing the next movie in the franchise in 2020!

James Cameron‘s Avatar 2 is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2020 and the third film will open a year later on December 17, 2021.

Fans will have to wait three years before getting to find out the rest of the story as Avatar 4 won’t be released until December 20, 2024, followed by Avatar 5 a year later on December 19, 2025.

Cameron announced the news on Facebook, saying, “Great to be working with the best team in the business! Avatar takes flight as we begin concurrent production on four sequels.”

Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, and Sigourney Weaver are expected to return for the upcoming films.

Good. Wondering what’s going to premiere first, the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo sequel or the Avatar series.

Thats kind of depressing, never announce a film’s release date more than a year in advance because no one wants to think about how old they will be when they come out. I prefer the years to just sneak up on me.

I will be 37 when the last Avatar movie comes out. I was 21 when the Avatar was released. That is an insane amount of time to expect anyone to still care about a franchise with only 1 film that has been released. Avatar was good but it is no Star Wars.

It was way too ambitious to promise the greatest movie that would blow our minds, the technologies aren’t there yet, but they will be in a few years.
The dates are ridiculous. I feel fooled and disappointed.

Who’s gonna care at that point? They’ll have to physically transport viewers to the Avatar world to live up to the hype.

Why the long wait? My dad is a fan and I doubt he’ll live that long to see the last film as he’s sick. He was excited when I told him there’s going to be a longer story. That’s just real depressing and sad.
