'Emerald City' Canceled by NBC After One Season

Emerald City has been canceled by NBC after one season on the air.

The series struggled to find an audience during its winter run this season. The series is the second new show that NBC recently canceled, following Vanessa HudgensPowerless.

Emerald City was a dark retelling of The Wizard of Oz. It followed 20-year-old Dorothy Gale (Adria Arjona), who gets swept up into the eye of a tornado and transported to another world – a mystical land where an all-powerful ruler (Vincent D’Onofrio) governs over one kingdom, has outlawed magic, and faces not only the wrath of a growing cauldron of witches but a looming disaster brought on by a mythical force.

You can still watch all 10 episodes of the series on NBC.com!

Maybe it was the lack of advertisement?? I totally missed that this show had started already! Was really excited when the first posters came out. But then it all went quiet marketing–wise. Nothing to do with the lack of finding a winter audience. This is marketing fail to the max :( Shame, I was looking forward to it.
