Taylor Hicks Throws Shade at Chris Daughtry, Says a Winner Should Judge 'American Idol'
It doesn’t sound like Taylor Hicks approves of Chris Daughtry as a choice to judge the upcoming American Idol reboot on ABC.
The 40-year-old singer won season five of the singing competition series, the same season that Chris competed on and finished in fourth place.
Chris, who went on to have huge success with his self-titled band, is reportedly joining the panel of judges for next year’s season.
“I think a winner should be [a judge], personally,” Taylor said during an interview on the Domenick Nati Show. “Because, what you go through to win the show is a lot different than what you go through when you’re third or fourth, you know, or fifth. Or tenth. If they were going to have a judge that’s from the show, if they’re going to have someone from the show who was actually a contestant, I would feel like a winner would be the best suited.”
When asked if he would consider being a judge on American Idol, Taylor said, “I would. I’ve got some pretty good ideas. We’ll see what happens.”
