J.K. Rowling Pays Tribute to Harry Potter's 20th Anniversary

It’s been 20 years since J.K. Rowling introduced us to the world of Harry Potter, and she’s marking the occasion with a special tribute.

The 51-year-old author took to Twitter on Monday (June 26) – the same day Bloomsbury published Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in the U.K. in 1997 – to share her thoughts.

“20 years ago today a world that I had lived in alone was suddenly open to others,” she wrote. “It’s been wonderful. Thank you. #HarryPotter20.”

Bloomsbury is set to release four new editions of the book, one for each house at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, in honor of the anniversary.

“She had a vision,” Bonnie Wright, who plays Ginny Weasley in the films, tweeted. “Congratulations @jk_rowling ⚡️#HarryPotter20.”
