Kesha Says Her New Album is About 'Being Vulnerable'

Kesha brightens up LAX Airport after a flight on Wednesday (July 5) in Los Angeles.

The 30-year-old entertainer went colorful in overalls over a rainbow shirt while wearing pink, sparkly sunglasses for her flight.

The following day, Kesha released her first new single in four years – “Praying” – and announced that her new album Rainbow will be released on August 11.

Kesha also released an emotional letter in Lena Dunham‘s Lenny Letter about her new album.

“I wrote this for myself,” Kesha writes. “’Cause I was in a really sad, lonely, dark place … I remember sitting on the floor, not knowing what to do with all my emotions, and the only thing I knew what to do was write a song. And this song was like a promise letter to myself that we were gonna make it.”

Kesha went on to say that she named the album Rainbow because “the shitstorm’s over – and this is the beginning of the good stuff.”

“Sorry for being emotional,” Kesha continued. “But I’m not actually sorry. ’Cause that’s what this record is about – being vulnerable. This is what I am.”

I hope Kesha’s new album is a success. Women should support her album out of principle for the fight she just went through. Let’s not forget that SONY stood behind Dr. Luke and quietly fired him once the lawsuit was over……

So we should buy the album of someone we don’t like just because she alleges she was attacked? Nope. And just to play devils advocate here – just because he was let go does not mean he was guilty.

I hear your logic but Dr. Luke was the highest grossing producer at Sony. I just don’t think they’d let him go easily. And I believe her story, that is why I think people should support her.

At the end of the day no one knows the story. I said something on a site when this happened and I believe it still stands today. Kesha has lied and been caught out a few times nad that’s why this isn’t an open and shut case. I’m not saying I don’t believe her but from what we have seen so far there isn’t enough proof when there could have been, an example being her mother saying she knew it was happening for years but didn’t think to try and do anything or try and get something to incriminate him yet they managed to keep material that showed she was being fat shamed from a couple of years back. That showed to me she was more bothered about her daughter getting money and muddies the waters over whether to believe what she says especially when she has flip flopped on a few things.

At the end of the day if he is guilty he deserves all he gets but on the other hand if he’s found innocent and it is nothing more than blackmail she and her mother deserve jail time and those who were all so quick to judge just on two people’s word should apologise to him including all the celebs who mouthed off.

As for buying her album, I get that you are being supportive and it’s your call if you get it or not but she isn’t the only person in the world that has had to deal with something like this and it doesn’t mean she should get a number one just because of it. There are other ways to be supportive rather than line her pockets.

The bit about her mother knowing is really disturbing. I’ll have to look that up. I do think that somehow, something went down though bc at the end of the day, Kesha lost her career over this, all of her money and several years of her life to strife. Seems like a lot to go through if there wasn’t some truth to the allegations.
