'Morning Joe' Co-Host Joe Scarborough Tells Stephen Colbert He's Leaving the Republican Party!
Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough made a special appearance on Tuesday night’s (July 11) The Late Show with Stephen Colbert with his co-host Mika Brzezinski, and revealed he was officially leaving the Republican Party.
The duo discussed being attacked on Twitter by President Donald Trump, railed against the G.O.P.’s refusal to disavow Trump‘s racism, and Joe announced that he plans to become an Independent.
“You have to ask yourself, what exactly is the Republican Party willing to do?” Joe told Stephen. “How far are they willing to go? How much of this country and our values are they willing to sell out?”
“I am a Republican, but I’m not going to be a Republican anymore,” Joe admitted. “I’ve got to become an independent. That’s not a party that Ronald Reagan can associate with; it’s certainly not a party that I can associate with.”
Joe also hit the stage to perform a song from his upcoming new EP Mystified called “Monkey House” – Watch more after the cut!
