The Bachelorette's Peter Kraus Reportedly 'Enraged' the Show's Higher-Ups

Any fans hoping to see Peter Kraus as the next star of The Bachelor should make sure not to get their hopes up.

The reality star broke up with Rachel Lindsay on The Bachelorette after he told her he couldn’t commit to proposing if she gave him the final rose. She then left him and picked Bryan Abasolo as her winner the next day.

Mike Fleiss, the creator of the Bachelor Nation franchise, sent out a cryptic, but not-so-cryptic, tweet on Thursday (August 17) that basically made it seem like Peter has no chance of continuing on the show.

Now, sources have spoken out about how Peter “enraged” the higher-ups working on the show because he essentially was the perfect guy, but wouldn’t commit to the show’s ideal fairytale ending.

Peter is every Bachelor producer’s worst nightmare: the perfect guy who cannot be coerced into proposing at the end,” an insider told People. “The fact that no one could talk Peter into buckling under and just giving her the ring — and that he wouldn’t play along — absolutely enraged the higher-ups at the show. Including Fleiss, definitely. He is totally on their s— list forever, and there is no way they will reward him with a shot at The Bachelor. No way.”

WHO DO YOU THINK should be the next Bachelor?

More power to Peter. He’s too good for that show…and he ended up being too good for Rachel.

Peter is the only one with common sense! Why should he be forced into a proposal after only 7 weeks! And Rachel? We all know if Peter agreed to propose Byran would’ve been yesterday’s news. He is a publicity whore and us in it just for all the attention. Let’s see how long it last before it fizzles out. I’m so done with this show.

We all don’t know any such thing. Peter is pretty basic (not saying that’s bad, but just no spark). When Rachel bought the matching, super expensive watches for herself and Bryan early on it was a done deal. The rest was for your entertainment. Rachel and Bryan are perfect together — Intelligent, worldly, good-looking, very educated, great careers, both from closely-knit families, both want a family. Gorgeous and will have gorgeous, brilliant kids. Winning couple.

If Peter becomes the Bachelor, ABC will have to find a Peter look alike to propose to the poor lady hoping to be engaged at the end of the season.

People would not be upset with Peter because he refused to propose, were he taking things with Rachel sort of causally. Peter had no business promising a future and confessing love to Rachel to just confuse her at the end. He knew exactly what he was doing. He knew Rachel loved Bryan from the get go and he wanted to ruin that. He also should not have bad mouthed Bryan or anyone else. Bryan never talked about anyone including Peter. Peter is now a laughing stock. Bad mouthing Bryan, while at the same time not wanting to propose to Rachel makes Peter ridiculous. Why does he care where Bryan and Rachel take their relationship in that case? He is too sick; he did not want to propose to her and he did not want anyone else to have her either. Was Peter’s hope for Rachel to end up alone? If the time the show offers is not enough for Peter, he had no business signing up for the show.

He made it very clear early on that he wasn’t sure about proposing at the end. I don’t see the problem with him wanting a relationship with her without having to propose after just 9 weeks. Every love story is different. He took a risk by coming on the show; he didn’t expect to find love, but he did. His feelings for Rachel didn’t develop as rapidly as Bryan’s, but it doesn’t make them less real. Rachel desperately wanted a ring and she got it. She was very impatient. Peter is far from a laughing stock, he still has the overwhelming support of fans, much to Rachel’s dismay. She tried her hardest to throw him under the bus & to make herself look like less of a fool. During the breakup, in the heat of the moment, Peter did say she would have a mediocre life, but he didn’t want to lose her & was frustrated that she was willing to settle just because she wanted a ring. There was no malicious intent.

Yes, Rachel got a ring and, with it, a man who can make up his mind. It is not a problem that Peter did not propose. The problem comes Peter should have stopped at saying he is not ready. Instead, Peter says, “I think I am ready, but I do not know how I would feel tomorrow.” and the like. Peter discusses about where Rachel and he should live; he discusses about the children they would have together, etc. This is something a person who is ready to commit says. I do believe that Peter wants all these things. I do believe he wants to get married and have children, but for reasons that he alone knows, he is unable to. I actually feel bad for him, because it is hard to believe someone would want to go through what he goes through when breaking up with women who he has strong connection. Remember his last girlfriend and him saying he is not sure if he would be ready to give his heart up. I can see how loving he is with his niece and nephew. I am just saying that he has some complications with relationships that are beyond the show and Rachel Lindsay. I wish him well.

I don’t think Peter has any issue with commitment, he was just rightfully cautious about the process. He saw a future with Rachel, but it doesn’t mean he had to propose after 9 weeks. He wasn’t leading her on, he just wanted to live in the real world with her for a bit before taking that huge step, a step that he only wanted to take ONCE. He may not be a risk taker, it doesn’t mean he wasn’t in love with her. The show wasn’t the place for someone like him, and that’s ok.
