Amanda de Cadenet Was Attracted to Keanu Reeves Before They Were BFFs

Amanda de Cadenet has been best friends with Keanu Reeves for decades, but before that she was actually attracted to him at age 19 when she was pregnant and married to Duran Duran bassist John Taylor.

The 45-year-old photographer and media mogul is getting ready to release her memoir “It’s Messy” and an excerpt that was released details her relationship with Keanu.

“We met when I was two months pregnant, 19 years old, and married to another man,” Amanda writes (via Daily Mail). “Within minutes of first laying eyes on him, I remember thinking, ‘I wonder how many pregnant women have affairs?’ I was surprised by my strong attraction to a man I had just met.”

Amanda says that Keanu initially turned her down as he is a “man with hard-core ethics,” but they eventually went on a date two years after she got divorced.

“From the day I got divorced, two years after we first met, I tried every goddamn trick in the book to get him to submit to my advances. Even tried-and-tested seduction tactics, which had otherwise worked with 100 percent success, failed with Mr. Reeves for many years,” Amanda wrote. “He was having none of it, and thank God because had we become lovers at that point, I don’t think we would have the powerful transformative friendship that we have today.”

Amanda also wrote in the book how her daughter Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor was “planned, and choosing motherhood at age eighteen is to this day one of the best decisions that I’ve made.”
