Angelina Jolie on Her Split From Brad Pitt: 'I Am a Little Bit Stronger'

Angelina Jolie is looking simply stunning on the cover of People.

Here’s what the actress, director, and humanitarian had to share with the mag:

On her past year after splitting from Brad Pitt: “I have had my ups and downs. I guess I am a little bit stronger. We all have our difficult times, but as a mother you also have a responsibility first and foremost towards the kids. They are going through their formative years and everything else comes second to that.”

On how she makes decisions now: “Everything will be around the children. I haven’t worked for over a year now because they needed me home. Everything was just stopped. I’m really sitting and talking with them because everything affects them. Every location, every type of project, I’m going to have to adjust it to however much they can handle.”

On what her six kids want for the future: “I think they’re itching to get out in the world again. We’ve all been a bit in lockdown and going through some things. I think it would be good to get out there and play together.”

Ditto That’s another ship that’s sailed. I didn’t buy the VF either. Or Brad’s GQ…just wanted to make that clear for anyone who thinks it’s Angie’s covers I’m boycotting. It’s more like magazines in general that I’m boycotting. LOL!

I don’t have a problem with GQ so I bought it. People has been on my sh®t list for years.

Loung Ung book “First Mataram My Father” comes to Brazil

    - September 13, 2017

The had edited Harper Collins Brazil will launch this month the book “First Killed My Father,” which tells the story of young Loung Ung and his trajectory to escape the dictator Pol Pot regime in Cambodia work this that inspired the new film directed by actress Angelina Jolie, who is scheduled to debut Sept. 15 on Netflix.

Daughter of a high official of the Government of Cambodia, the girl had a privileged life until early childhood. Everything changed in April 1975 when it was established in the country one of the worst regimes in history, the Khmer Rouge, responsible for the deaths of about 2 million Cambodians at the time.

When the army invaded the city, Loung and his family spent seriously at risk, since his father was a government agent. For a while, they disguised themselves and managed to stay together, but his parents were discovered and executed. From there, Loung to flee and ended up in a child soldier training camp, where he was trained to become one of the communist army members. Since his brothers were sent to a camp of forced labor.

Despite all the suffering, the young man did not give up to change your life. At ten, she managed to escape to Thailand with one of his brothers and, years later, came to the United States.

“This is a story of survival: my and my family. Although these events are part of my life experience, my story is reflected in the lives of millions of Cambodians, “said the author in his book.

She looks gorgeous on the cover.

  • Passing Through

The photos were great and it was a good interview. But…there were 3 different covers and I couldn’t decide which one to get, so I said, fuck it – I’m not buying it. LOL! Then the VF came out and the pix were great but the interview sucked, so I said screw it – I’m done buying mags. I can look at the pix online and that VF interview was NOT worth re-reading. I could have written that crap in my sleep.

  • bap

Well I do not have problem with this People’s issue, so I will buy about 6 copies.

  • Passing Through

But…only cuz there’s a price on their heads…and Porgie’s tired of ratzi getting shots of her middle-aged belly…

  • Felinelilly

    Got it and replied. lol

  • Beck

I like seeing new pictures of Angie and hearing her talk about the movie, and Cambodia, and the little cute tidbits about the kids, who all seem so sweet and fun. But every time she references the split/Brad/family situation, I end up either confused or sad. I am inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt up to a point because god knows she’s had a hell of a hard time lately and is still healing and figuring things out, naturally. But this isn’t her first rodeo, she knows the implications of her words, and its making me wonder what she thinks she’s accomplishing with some of the things she’s been saying.

  • Angela Johnson

Good point. Buying magazines are kinda pointless. I have a printer and I can have any of the pictures I want for free. And the lack of quality in interviews nowadays. I’ve read a couple of magazines at the library and doctor’s appointments and readers get more gossip than anything. Too much filler.

  • Las

What did brad accomplish with his gq interview . Oh but according to you fools he was sooooo brave for that crap

  • hotmesss

Thanks. Isn’t she also having a DGA screening in LA with a q & a or did that one already happen?

  • Passing Through

Most magazines are crap these days. If it’s 100 pages – 45 pages are ads and the rest is pablum. I can’t believe all the mags I used to subscribe to back in the day – Time, Newsweek, US News & World Report, Spin, Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated, The Sporting News, Entertainment Weekly, Premiere. Oddly enough – I just realized that I never subscribed to Peeps. Even 20-25 years they were something I only read in the doctor’s or dentist’s office.

  • Passing Through

I’ve been going back and forth…but my head is spinning now…

  • Las

    It’s obvious.

  • 81a

She seems to be in pain and conflicted.

  • Beedyq

    Next week, on the 22nd.

  • Las

Enough she doesn’t. She seems To be real relaxed and her confidence is growing more and more

  • hotmesss

At this point I think her words are being looked at more heavily because of what went on. All of this will pass though in time for now it’s still an open wound. Its what happen when you are a public figure such as her and him. She states they are all getting better and she just wants her family to get better. In all honesty I think that includes Pitt. This wasnt going to be fixed overnight folks there will be some hills and valleys for all involved but in the end they will be ok.

  • Beck

I guess I’m a bad fan because I’ve never bought a magazine for either of them lmao. I read/look at everything online. I’m a child of the internet I guess.

  • Passing Through

Ditto. See my comments below. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt – but like you said – it ain’t her first rodeo. She’s had a year to deal with this and prepare herself for interviews and how much and WHAT she would share, so I’m confused by why she’s not doing a better job with these interviews. Unless – it’s what she means to do – be all over the place…

  • Passing Through

Part of me sees that – the other part of me remembers she’s an Oscar-winning actress. Yeah, I said that out loud. LOL!

  • Las

Angelina is not saying what you fools want to hear so you bash her. Brad Pitt’s gq photoshoot was a damn shame wth his weepy face and teary eyes. What was he trying to accomplish with that crap

  • Passing Through

Smart…saved yourself a lot of money because those mags aren’t cheap. $5-6 each for Vogue, VF, GQ, etc., etc. etc.

  • hotmesss

    Thanks again☺

  • auristela.auristelapessoa.pess

“I think they’re itching to get out in the world again,” says Jolie. “We’ve all been a bit in lockdown and going through some things. I think it would be good to get out there and play together.”

  • plez

She did not handle the story of the children auditioning very well. Leaving a gap for the reporter to fill in what she thought happen. I really think Angelina was not ready for these interviews after dealing with her health problems along with everything else.

  • Beck

Of course her words are being looked at more heavily. Brad’s are too, and like Angie, he is experienced in this game and smart enough to know what the implications of his words are. That’s what happens when you have a giant public scandal.

As to your second point, I really don’t think she’s talking about Brad there. The one constant through all her interviews has been how her and the kids are being strong for each other, are a unit, etc. She’s talking about the kids.

Nobody said anything about anything being fixed overnight, if you read my comment again you’ll see I said its natural that she’s still in the healing process. My point wasn’t that everything should be perfect by now (although its been a year, so I would hope for significant progress at least), it was that Angie is choosing to say things in a way that is confusing and sometimes, imo, vaguely disrespectful. And its unnecessary and helps nobody.

  • hotmesss

She is that’s why I’m mostly mute on the subject of her interviews because I can’t say how I would answer the questions if I was in her shoes and I’m just being honest. The whole situation is a pretty shitty thing to be in the midst of for all of them.

  • tboz

I think it’s harder on her because of the accusations thrown at her and they still are. She wants to and need to say what really happened and for some reason cannot. I assume either legally or maybe trying to protect someone. People should take what she says for what it is and leave her alone. God knows what they have been through and yet she is getting all the blame still. I don’t think people here or some others understand that. I do believe the public scrutiny she faced did a lot of damage to her and those kids and maybe they somehow hold him to that. People look at things from the outside and really not having any clue. We all know she has protected Pitt for years for whatever reason. It is so easy to read things and take from it what you want. I think it is very clear what she said and meant.

  • TaraTeller

what a ridiculous statement. she locked them all up in the house?

  • TaraTeller

she deserves it because she’s a bitch.

  • Beedyq

She herself said the kids came first in terms of healing, her efforts at healing were secondary to theirs…her own words.

She spoke of a difficult therapy session she participated in, this was in mid-June.

Real Effective Healing takes time, days or months or sometimes even years. One day you are up and the next day you are down. But it all evens out in time.

I too think family means all 8 of them.

  • TaraTeller

photoshop. all she has is her face.

  • TaraTeller

this is the only site that angie is still worshipped. everyone has sees her true vicious colors.

  • TaraTeller

    cause she’s a selfish bitch

  • TaraTeller

you get upset? you need a shrink.

  • Beck

Why would she want or need to say ‘what really happened’ in people magazine?? That would be colossally stupid imo, and for what? So that MAYBE a few of the many people who’ve been shitting on her for literally decades will cool off? This is Angelina Jolie we’re talking about right?People will hate her regardless of what she says and she’s known that forever. Spilling all the details helps nobody, least of all her kids.

  • Beedyq

She is not ready. But she is doing the job she has to do as well as she can at this time. Living in a fishbowl does not give one any cover.

  • 81a

    LOL.

  • Beedyq

Yes it is. Full of pain. Grappling with how to answer questions as honestly as possible but keeping your life as private as you can at the same time. Almost an impossible situation to be in.

Not much parsing of her words from me.

  • fuuuuji

only Angelina only fans want them back together.

  • The Ring

    buahahahahhahahaahh

  • The Ring

booommmmm Jolie and her kids are done with the drunk
