Rose McGowan Apologizes for 'Marchesa Line' in Deleted Tweet

Rose McGowan is speaking out to apologize for her recent remarks criticizing the black dress protest.

The 44-year-old Charmed star blasted Meryl Streep and other actresses who worked with Harvey Weinstein, claiming they knew about his alleged behavior. Rose called them hypocrites for planning on wearing black to the 2018 Golden Globes as a form of silent protest.

“Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster, are wearing black @goldenglobes in a silent protest. YOUR SILENCE is THE problem. You’ll accept a fake award breathlessly & affect no real chance. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa,” Rose wrote in a deleted tweet.

Harvey‘s estranged wife, Georgina Chapman, was one of the founders of the brand.

“The Marchesa line was beneath me and I’m sorry for that,” Rose tweeted on Monday (December 18). “Seeing that picture of Alyssa Milano with GC has ignited something in me that I can’t quite articulate. There is no map for this road I’m on, I will f–k up. Peace be with you, go with Goddess.”

I’ve heard some also saying the women shouldn’t attend. Expecting the women not to attend that were nominated is so stupid too. I thought you wanted women to get more roles and be recognized more. So don’t tell them not to attend an award show that they might possibly win an award for some achievement of theirs. That’s unfair to this group of female nominee’s.

Meryl Streep still hasn’t apologized for giving a standing ovation to convicted pedophile Polanski, but yet Rose McGowan is the one apologizing here? Really?

I am a survivor – of child sexual abuse, of rape and gang rape, and of abduction. I disclosed very, very publicly in the 90s when women really did not disclose. I can only say that Rose’s comments are completely alienating me as a survivor and as a woman. I have seen absolutely nothing that says Weinstein’s wife even knew about his behavior- let alone colluded. And if she is indeed, therefore, another of his victims, then shame on you, Rose McGowan! My rapist was a highly respected ordained white minister who worked with and counselled troubled teens, and I was a girl from the hood. You want to talk about powerless. No one knew what he was doing except his victims and those he told. Rose is by no means the first survivor to go public. There is a lot she could learn from those who have come before her and it is out there – it is not hidden. And if she thinks her situation is unique, she can talk to black women who have been raped by powerful white men. It outrages me that the positive powerful force this is this movement is being used to attack other women. And, dammit. start putting a dollop of energy into healing and recovery. Victims are raw and riled up, with no soft place to land. MOST of us are not part of her twitter Queendom and we are a lot less forgiving of someone whose thoughtlessness is on the verge of provoking a very damaging backlash. Rose is standing on other women’s shoulders as if they are bodies and she’s walking all over them as if their lives – OUR lives had no meaning..She is also not the first person to turn down a nondisclosure agreement – the minister’s name is Derek Wallace and he was with Young Life. A dash of humility would go a long way. And her excuses are childish – she is being petty. If Rose considers herself the self-designated leader of this movement, and if this is about a movement and not just about her own notoriety, there is an old adage she should consider: Just because you think it, doesn’t mean you have to say it.

Why do you only call Meryl Streep for it ? They all gave him the standing ovation he deserved as a director of one of the best movie about holocaust and WWII in Europe.

It’s o.k. rose we are all with you, sometimes something hits you in a moment and you regret certain words, if so apologize and move forward, very brave women.

you have to be kidding right? right? Polanski doesn’t deserve anymore anything or anything anymore~!!!!

Polanski is a rapist pedophile pig that got away with multiple rapes!! stop sticking up for him and those in hollywood who have protected him and given him awards. just disgusting. the system has crashed down below its foundations.

Streep can attend whatever awards event she wants for all I care. She is an actress and it her industry. That being said, if anyone wants to call her out for her SUPPORT of the pedophile rapist Polanski, they can do that as well. A hypocite is a hypocrite.

Mainly because Meryl Streep is the one standing there trying to make out as if she’s a champion for women?!
