K-Pop Icon BoA Writes Emotional Letter to Jonghyun Following His Death

BoA is mourning the loss of her SM Entertainment labelmate and friend Kim Jong-Hyun, known as Jonghyun, the SHINee member who tragically died on Monday (December 18).

Following late boy band member’s funeral this week, the 31-year-old “My Name” Korean pop superstar penned a letter to Jonghyun on her Instagram on Thursday (December 21).

“To Jonghyun, who always came to see me in the waiting room at every concert. Why did we always talk about work during our short meetings? Why did we only think about how we could better our work instead of wondering how we’re both living?” she wrote in the emotional letter.

“Today, I couldn’t believe I was in the same place as you, but I couldn’t see you. I wish you would’ve told me at least once. Still, I don’t blame you. The beautiful lyrics and melodies you created will comfort a lot of people and remain in their memories.”
