'Young Sheldon' Officially Renewed for Season Two!

CBS has officially picked up a second season of the hit new comedy Young Sheldon!

The new series, a spin-off of The Big Bang Theory starring Iain Armitage as the younger version of Jim Parsons‘ character Sheldon Cooper, is the number one new comedy on television in 18 years.

Young Sheldon has made a huge impact on our schedule in the short time it’s been on the air,” said Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment. “While the show’s DNA is clearly rooted in The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon has staked out its own place in the TV universe with a unique creative tone, brilliant writing and a gifted multi-generational cast. We can’t wait to see Chuck, Steve, Jim and Todd’s vision for how the Cooper family deals with Sheldon growing a year older…and smarter.”

Jim is one of the show’s executive produces along with his husband Todd Spiewak!

I’m glad they renewed it. This show was an unexpected surprise.

What a surprise. Yes it’s good but even if it was crap, they would have renewed because of Chuck and his threat to take TBBT elsewhere like he did a few years back with that and TAAHM.

I tried *TRIED* sitting through an episode of this show and couldn’t do it. The funny bits seemed forced and the constant drone of adult Sheldon was distracting. The one bit I did like was the girl who plays his sister; she’s one to watch! :D
