This opens my curiosity as what the all female cast of Oceans 8 got paid. I hope those salaries get published, I don’t believe one bit that Sandra, Cate, and Ann made the same as the rest of the cast.

    Someone release those numbers…

  • moody

Me neither. If I were Michelle, I’d be embarrassed by all this. Makes her look like a wimp and stupid.

  • wearing

i think we’d have to see which roles are more prominent first. If they’re equal to each other, then yes, compare the salaries. just like jeremy renner, amy adams, and christian bale were a trio in their movie. or to compare it to the other oceans movies, i think brad pitt and george clooney probably should’ve been paid the same, but not the same as the quiet acrobat dude that hid in a box

  • wearing

I’m confused, though, because didn’t they say that everyone did the reshoots for free?

  • Liz

She is not a box office draw, Mark Whalberg is. She’s more talented than he is, has been nominated for more Oscars, but she doesn’t fill seats at the movie theater. Talent isn’t enough to get paid equally.

  • moody

I said exactly this. Michelle is not a household name like Wahlberg and she isn’t a player in Hollywood like Wahlberg. He’s not worth $225 million for sitting around doing nothing.

  • Gina

Surely she deserves more than 1% of his salary, though. That’s crazy.

It’s not hard to figure out. No one is going to a movie to see her, they are going because of the film itself or Mark.

  • RayonLight

Yes she does; who’s responsibility is to fight for her? the people she is paying to represent her.

  • Péter PHorváth

but that’s called investment in the hopes an actor generates.
a salary is a reward/compensation for the actual work you performed for the part.
Marc and Michelle performed the same amount/intensity/screen time of work. they should be paid equally.
if the producers think Marc is a better profit-generator or a better surface for advertising products in the film, it should be compensated otherwise, not in the salary. thats the problem.

  • wearing

Apparently they’re repped by the same company, which makes it even worse -_-

  • Johnny Law

Millionaires arguing over who got more millions for playing pretend in front of a camera. Heath Ledger dying is the best thing that ever happened to this girl. Fugly and talentless, yet she has rubes up in arms to try and get her more money.

  • Visitor

No one pays to see movie stars. No one will go to see this film because of Mark. Can you name a film that Wahlberg has carried on the strength of his name (Transformers does not count bc that would make bank even with no name actors)?

  • Mercyneal

Actually he’s not a box office draw. And except for “The Departed” he can’t act

  • Sweet Cheeks

You’re right, even though I believe Michelle is a better actor. Mark can bank at the box office, ‘Ted’, ‘Perfect Storm’, ‘Planet of the Apes’, ‘Daddy’s Home’, ‘Italian Job’, ‘Lone Survivor’, ‘Departed’ were some of his biggest films. Michelle’s films over 100 mil. were ‘Oz’ and ‘Shutter Island’. Mark is a much bigger star.

  • Gina

    I agree with that.
