Scarlett Johansson Calls Out James Franco at Women's March

Scarlett Johansson called out James Franco during her speech at the 2018 Women’s March.

The 33-year-old actress was one of many in attendance at the march on Saturday morning (January 20) in Los Angeles.

During her speech, Scarlett said, “How could a person publicly stand by an organization that helps to provide support for victims of sexual assault while privately preying on people who have no power?” Scarlett then paused and said, “I want my pin back, by the way.”

Scarlett‘s rep has confirmed to Just Jared that she was referring to James Franco, who has been accused of sexual misconduct, despite wearing a Time’s Up pin at the Golden Globes.

Says the woman who’s worked with Woody Allen x 3. Not judging that decision but it’s a bit hypocrital.

  • Camille

I agree. Plus she’s known for sucking dick for a role or 2

  • jh7058622

What a hypocrite. We need to stop throwing people under the bus and start with a tiny bit of understanding on both ends. Many men have an enormous amount of pressure to be seen as veral and strong and if not seen that way get abandoned by society or thought of as lesser. In this movement we should not forget women’s most powerful ability… the ability to have compassion. This whole leading with anger made since in the beginning but we need to be able to see the layered and complicated societal epidemic and how it doesn’t just effect women but men also. TEACH us how to be better don’t just assume every man should “know better.”

Stranglehold be the same standards we are.holding other abusers..Because he is an insider “darling”.he will get away with it.

can you tell me which roles?

  • Silly People

How did these women who worked with James Franco have no power? Scarlett is basically saying women are too weak to stand up for themselves. I’m a woman. I look out for myself. If I’m not comfortable, I say so. I stand up for myself. Stop saying we are powerless and weak. We are not.

  • Gigi La Moore

    “Woody Allen”. Drops mic.

  • SquidBillie

Ironic, since ScarJo has always had a rep for not getting along with other women.

  • cafeast

Oh Jimmy French… we are in a pickle, aren’t we…

btw ScarJo, to answer your Q: ppl do that all the time.

  • cafeast

ScarJo has been an Alist actress since she was a kid. She doesn’t get the idea that D list actresses will not get the same treatment she and her A list pals are so used to getting. She cannot relate.
These nobodies will work for a hundred dollars a day if that, and some of those roles will ask for nudity. 99% of actors are broke and jobless. They are not in the position of power b/c they practically beg for work, male of female. They are not playing superheroes, they are not on the cover of Vanity Fair smiling like idiots.
Of course there is a power imbalance. Welcome to show-biz, Ms. Alist Hwood Bimbo!

  • Silly People

The fact that she’s worked with Woody Allen makes her a giant hypocrite.

  • SaraJ

She’s not wrong for working with Woody Allen (he was proven innocent and his wife was NEVER his adopted daughter) – and James Franco isn’t wrong either. People need to calm the eff down and Time’s Up needs to make sure they’re not going after just anybody or their organization will fall apart.

  • Luna Alas

I wish some of these celeb women would take it upon themselves to teach men instead of shame them, make allies instead of enemies of these accused men, like Franco who seem to want to understand and learn from their actions. Obviously some men are too disgusting to change at this point, but other’s can become examples of change. I fear it’s too late as the MeToo TimesUp movement has become a hashtag on a t-shirt, meaning it is now gimmick more than anything else:(.

    Judgmental bitch!

  • ShellBell

He did admit on record he was paternal with her so at one time he DID see her as a daughter even if he changed his story later.

  • greppinwolf

Was not proven “innocent”; prosecutors decided not to drag an abused kid through the court system against her abuser. It never went to trial.

  • SaraJ

Actually, they deemed her testimony as likely false and coached from her mother.

  • SaraJ

They never lived together. It doesn’t matter, their relationship is adult and consensual – she has the right to date/marry whomever she pleases.

That’s the exact opposite of the truth… are you just enjoying lying? He was not allowed visits for a reason. And it is on the legal record that all evaluations of Dylan’s recollections were deemed without coercion from her mother. You are just full of BS. Or, I don’t know, you can read her recent statement about her molesting father.

  • Camille

    Iron man 2, the prestige

  • ShellBell

Doesn’t matter if they lived together or not. He went on record and said he was paternal with her which means he either treated her as a daughter or saw himself as her father so to then go on and start a sexual relationship is in the wrong whether it was consensual or not. No one’s saying she couldn’t marry him but to think people wouldn’t think it was weird or not right is naive.

  • ShellBell

I’m pretty sure a psychologist/psychiatrist was the one who first said something wasn’t right with the way he acted with her, putting all his attention on her and ignoring the other kids and it had nothing to do with Mia.

  • SaraJ

Source where he claimed he was paternal? Or did MIA claim that?

  • SaraJ

No, that’s literally what happened and why charges were not pressed. I did read her statement written as an adult. She’s a messed up individual.

  • Martin Thomas

She wasn’t too upset about cosying up to Polanski at a French awards ceremony in 2014… That bends my head: Scarlett hates Trump (and she also has it in for his daughter!), yet she had no problem whispering in the ear of Roman Polanski?!! And it begs the question: how are allegations about Allen merely ‘guesswork’ and accusations about Franco are not? Talk about selective outrage…

  • ShellBell

“I’m 35 years older, and somehow, through no fault of mine or hers, the
dynamic worked. I was paternal,” he explains. “She responded to someone
paternal. I liked her youth and energy. She deferred to me, and I was
happy to give her an enormous amount of decision making just as a gift
and let her take charge of so many things.”

From a Vanity Fair interview he himself did in 2015. There in his own words he said he was paternal with her.
