'The Shining' Sequel 'Doctor Sleep' Finds Its Director!

The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep has found its director!

Mike Flanagan will direct the upcoming film, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.

The film will be an adaptation of Stephen King‘s 2013 novel.

The story follows the now adult Danny Torrance, who is dealing with alcoholism and the trauma of what happened to him as a child at the haunted Colorado hotel. Along the way, he’s presented with an opportunity to use the shining power he discovered in the first book in a way that can help a young girl.

Mike also directed the adaptation of Stephen‘s Gerald’s Game for Netflix.
