Meryl Streep Celebrates Oscar Nomination at Academy Awards Luncheon

Meryl Streep was all smiles at the 2018 Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon!

The 68-year-old actress stepped out for the event held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Monday (February 5) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

She wore a layered, long-sleeve white dress with black tights and pumps, accessorizing with silver hoop earrings.

Meryl is nominated for Best Actress for her work in The Post, marking her 21st nomination in her career.

About this year’s nomination, Meryl told Just Jared in a statement, “I am honored beyond measure by this nomination for a film I love, a film that stands in defense of press freedom, and inclusion of women’s voices in the movement of history- Proud of the film, and all her filmmakers. Thank you from a full heart.”

Don’t miss Meryl in season two of Big Little Lies.

FYI: Meryl is wearing a Valentino dress and clutch, Wolford tights, Givenchy shoes, and Jacquie Aiche circle earrings.

I just can’t get passed the fact that she called Harvey GOD and defended and clapped for Polanski. She really stood for them. And she KNEW. The fact that she is nominated for an Oscar shows that the whole Times Up and MeToo thing is just politics to make Hollywood look good but it’s smoke and mirrors bc they still celebrate open rape supporters like Meryl.

that is NOT your dress, miss meryl.

she is NOT a rape supporter. what a stupid comment.

It’s a much needed movement but has turned, for some, into a witch hunt. Too many just enjoy negative drama.

Rumors are one thing but no one can do anything unless the victims come forward to fight. We’ve all hear about the ‘casting couch’ yet couldn’t do anything without confirmation. It was accepted for too long. It’s now Time’sUp but also a time to come together. MS is powerful and should not be pushed away.

AS for the casting couch, how about just saying NO? I do not believe for one second that every successful actress used the casting couch to get ahead.

I don’t believe that either and I do agree that some could have said “no”. The word though isn’t always respected and some are desperate to work and afraid they can’t do anything else.
My point though was that knowledge of the ‘casting couch’ wasn’t only excused but accepted. Hopefully that has now changed. It was though a different time then and sadly some believed the game playing was okay.
