NBC Explains That Super Bowl 2018 Blackout

Fans all over the country had a momentary black out on their TV screens when NBC’s station went totally blank with no explanation during the 2018 Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.

Now, NBC has released a statement explaining that it was due to “equipment failure,” and nothing was missed during that time. People on social media had been speculating that NBC may have lost millions if one of the many Super Bowl commercials didn’t air due to the mistake.

“We had a brief equipment failure that we quickly resolved. No game action or commercial time were missed,” NBC said in a statement (via CNN).
