Busy Philipps Goes Off on Quentin Tarantino on Twitter After Roman Polanski Comments

Busy Philipps is sorry she ever auditioned for Quentin Tarantino after hearing the comments he made in a 2003 interview concerning Roman Polanski and the rape of a 13-year-old child.

To summarize, Quentin said the child “wanted to have it,” and “she was down to party with Roman.”

When Busy listened to the resurfaced interview, she was understandably upset.

QUENTIN IS CANCELLED,” Busy started tweeted on Monday evening (February 5). You can read all of the tweets below, which do contain some curse words.

    Busy sounds crazy

    Busy is 100% right.

Anyone justifying a rapist pedophile is just so unfathomably stupid I wouldn’t believe it if there wasn’t proof. She’s 100% right in what she’s saying.

  • Michele V

I wonder if she’s aware that Michelle Williams once worked with Roman Polanski.

  • Amber

    She’s awesome.

  • Jaclyn Shortt

That was a decade ago. I’m sure neither Michelle Williams or Natalie Portman who was also in the perfume commercial went around justifying Polanski’s behavior. I love that in a case of a convicted child rapist people still point fingers at women.

  • Michele V

Hey, I love Michelle Williams, and I’m not looking for any actors to denounce working with certain directors… Bbt Busy is the one who went on a tirade. I’m just wondering if she’s aware!

  • Jaclyn Shortt

I apologize, your comment didn’t read as a question, it seemed like an acussation to me, sorry for snapping and misunderstanding. I kind of think she would know? They’ve been close going back almost 20 years. I’m sure both Michelle & Natalie wish they hadn’t, but I don’t know if they felt like they had a choice to protest.

  • bbm

i get her point, but such an exagerated reaction

  • Maria M.

I doubt that Quentin or any other relevant director are waiting in front of her house to hire her so it’s easy to “cancel” them.

  • Will

    I wonder what you are?

  • Stoni

    Awesome

If he was not cancelled in 2003 when he actually made the remarks then he won’t be cancelled now. This Times up/#metoo thing is turning into a power trip. If you have to go back that far to find something to end someone over you are trying too hard. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and even if it is gross i don’t think hew should loose his career over it. its not like he actually did a 13 year old.

I wish everyone was this fired up about it, maybe then it wouldn’t take so long for actual change to happen

  • Sansa Squad

It’s crazy to be angry about a “respected” figure in her industry defending statutory rape? (Especially as the mother of two young girls – not that that should make a difference…) Seems pretty reasonable to me.

  • Stoni

Regardless she shouldn’t be yelling obscenities at him. THAT is what makes her look crazy.

  • Sansa Squad

I can see why you might feel that way but I guess I just think someone who thinks statutory rape isn’t wrong deserves to be “yelled” at. If you listen to the actual audio you’ll probably want to yell at him too. Her rage level (as evidenced by her use of all-caps I guess?) is completely justified, and calling her crazy when Quentin was the one condescendingly laughing about how a 13 year-old child under the influence of drugs and alcohol “wanted it” from Polanski feels misplaced to me.

  • Stoni

I see your point. Thank you for being so kind about it :)

  • MyName

Women shouldn’t defend child rapists either. Agreeing to work with them is also wrong.

What bothers me is that only now is it okay to denounce RP in the industry. It’s better late than never and people do feel stronger in numbers. I do though wish and expected people to ignore him and not work with him even if they weren’t yet ready to speak out.

I’m speaking in general and not about any one particular person.

I understand what you’re saying. Good point.
