Janet experienced a 150% increase in streams in the hour after the game following a day of posts from fans using the hashtag #JanetJacksonAppreciationDay on social media, Spotify tells Us Weekly.

“All increases were calculated by comparing US streams in the hour that followed the broadcast with the same hour the previous week,” explained the streaming service.

The appreciation day came as a show of support, following the controversy of Janet‘s infamous “wardrobe malfunction” alongside Justin Timberlake at the Super Bowl in 2004. The hashtag was started by former NFL player and filmmaker Matthew A. Cherry.

At the same time, Justin also enjoyed a healthy boost of his own following his Super Bowl halftime show this year.

“Following Justin Timberlake‘s performance during [the] halftime show, streams of the ‘SexyBack’ singer surged 214 percent on Spotify in the U.S. during the hour that followed Philadelphia Eagles’ win over New England Patriots,” reports Spotify.

His biggest surges included “Until The End Of Time” and “Suit & Tie,” as well as Prince‘s “I Would Die 4 U,” which he covered during a tribute within the performance.
