Snowboarder Red Gerard Wins First Gold Medal for Team USA at Winter Olympics 2018!

The United States has won its first gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics thanks to Red Gerard!

The 17-year-old snowboarder took home gold after competition in slopestyle snowboarding on Sunday morning (February 11) in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

After falling on his first two turns, Red found himself in 11th place, but on his third and final run rebounded with a score of 87.16, securing him the gold medal.

Canada’s Max Parrot and Mark McMorris won silver and bronze with runs of 86.00 and 85.20, respectively.
