Tessa Thompson Will Play Notorious Jewelry Thief Doris Payne in a Film!

Tessa Thompson is taking on a real-life role!

The 34-year old Thor: Ragnarok actress will portray Doris Payne, who notoriously gained attention over the decades for jewelry heists in stores around the world, Variety reports.

The film will be an action-drama, in the style of Catch Me if You Can and The Thomas Crown Affair.

Doris, who is now 87 years old, used to enter jewelry stores pretending to look for a diamond ring, and eventually confuse the store clerk until she made away with one or two pieces. She did this since the ’50s, facing arrest several times, and even admitted to having 10 different Social Security numbers.

She herself described her crimes in detail in 2013′s The Life and Crimes of Doris Payne.
