I don’t think many of his clothes fit him anymore. His body has changed, not just bloating/dieting. Nobody mentioned those pics from the B.P. screening, with C.B., how ridiculous Gerard looked, obviously sucking in his tummy. When he wears that UnderArmour compression top, it acts like a …. Well, he doesn’t need to suck in his gut and hold his breath, let’s just leave it at that.

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux Call It Quits, Gerard Butler Wants In
    https://theblemish.com/2018/02/jennifer-aniston-justin-theroux-call-quits-gerard-butler-wants/

“Gossip Cop, being a cock blocker, swooped in and shut down these reports. They write a huge ass post about how there’s no proof of a Butler-Aniston romance. Yet, THEIR only proof that it isn’t happening is a “Butler confidante exclusively tells us there’s no truth to talk of a romance with Aniston.” Oh, your one confidante? Get out of here. Gossip Cop is like the anal one at the party telling you not to take that one last drink. Morons.”

If it were me, and I was in a relationship with someone I loved and people harassed me over it, we’d get married and have a big blow out. AND TAPE THE WHOLE THING AND POST IT FOR EVERYONE THE PLEASURE TO WATCH.

First the Brandi bs now this, what a lucky guy he is.

  • Sunkist

He can’t. It’s part of his job. He could take better care of himself though. No apparent reason for his yo-yo dieting, and sudden bloating, so maybe just poor eating habits.I don’t want to speculate on the bloating reasons. It is unhealthy, and unsafe. He is really such a handsome man, there is no reason, Imo, for him to look like crap so much of the time. It effects his career badly, as well as his self-image. He said of DOT, “I’ve never looked worse in a film.” He knows. It’s just too bad he really either doesn’t care any more, which I don’t believe, or he’s just too “uninspired”( re; lazy ). He puts goop in his hair, and gets the gray touched up, or wears his hats to cover it. He sucks in his belly when he feels objectified. Why not just be healthily fit, and stay that way?
He can be such a person of manic extremes.
I made some totally outstanding hot chocolate tonight, with Dark chocolate morsels.
OmG! He NEEDS this !!! ☕😍

  • Pam

;) Relax. People like him for who he is. His body is stressed and that’s the bloating.

There’s nothing wrong with relaxing and there’s nothing wrong with looking one’s best. You aren’t obligated to impress anyone.

Gerard Butler’s Passion Project Afterburn Is Finally Being Made
    https://screenrant.com/gerard-butler-afterburn-movie/

“It appears the success of Den Of Thieves has also given Butler some clout, as Deadline reports his passion project Afterburn is finally getting made.”
“Butler has been attached to Afterburn since at least 2010 when Antoine Fuqua (The Equalizer) was lined up as director…”

Yes, I know we already know this news but I’m curious as to whether DOT doing better than expected and his acting actually getting good reviews really did contribute to this project getting the go-ahead now cos it’s quite a big deal, IMO.

  • Angelette Holtrust

    FU dumb shit

  • Sonia

“It effects his career badly, as well as his self-image. He said of DOT, “I’ve never looked worse in a film.” He knows.”
He meant he has never looked worse in a film cos he played a bulked-up, alcoholic, chain-smoking, donut-eating, workaholic cop who spent hours at bars/strip clubs at night too and whose wife has taken his kids and left him. It was his look for the role and that look and role seems to have been a great boost for his career, actually. Say what you want about his look in other cases but IMO I don’t think you can comment on a look/role in a movie you haven’t watched. He went through a physical transformation for a role and he should be applauded for it, not chided.

  • http://disqus.com Wondering

HW must have been waiting for Gerry to do a movie that had good reviews before it came out rather than all the politically correct nonsense attached to the other ones. He kept plugging along and it paid off. Funny how they come a knocking when money is made.

BTW Sonia, thanks for all the good news.

  • http://disqus.com Wondering

That is cute, she was Butlerized.

  • https://rememberingthedesireisprivate.blogspot.com/ GFW

It’s the only thing that matters. H’Wood will give some actors of potential a lot more wiggle room than others, and Butler is one of those actors. The sequel, if made with the same type of lower budget, good interesting story, can be put together quickly, filmed easily enough, and if Butler keep giving his blue to the sea, they’ll keep offering him opportunities. My personal opinion is his want or need or feeling he deserves only big budget films and leading roles have what have weighted him down, because H’Wood hasn’t worked like that for a long time now.

  • Sonia

IMO, that Forbes article/interview from a few weeks ago was spot on. Butler is still a bankable star, no matter what the critics say, just look at the likes of OHF and LHF. And especially internationally, as he himself acknowledged in the piece. If he’s that bad an actor with such a bad rep and is as awful or drugged out or sick as some claim, no studio will want to make movies with him, even if he produces/finances them himself. They have to look at their bottom line as to what’s in it for them too so he’s obviously still making money for them.

  • https://rememberingthedesireisprivate.blogspot.com/ GFW

He who learns must suffer. It is my personal opinion that Butler has suffered through some hard lessons concerning what he feels he deserves versus what he needs. H’Wood is a reptile. It’s not humane. It frankly doesn’t care how good-looking you are, where you live, who you screw, but it does concern itself with the bottom line. Make everyone money and more projects will magically appear. It’s a business.

  • http://disqus.com Wondering

    Damn straight.

  • https://rememberingthedesireisprivate.blogspot.com/ GFW

If you’re honest what made Butler bankable in Den of Thieves? His look or the fact he did research into the likes of a “Big Nick” and it showed? Pablo was right when he said, “Take the lines and read them.” Yet, yes and no as it seems Butler has relied on just showing up and reciting them from what I’ve seen without the in-depth groundwork needed then AFM would have been better in my opinion. You somehow must leave your off-screen persona out of the character and find a way into the role where people who know you don’t actually see you playing “Big Nick.” There should not be portals into the man himself. He, also, shouldn’t mention them if they are there. Please don’t tell me. Be a mystery. Like Robbie Williams sings, “Please do read my mind. I tell the truth to me.”

  • https://rememberingthedesireisprivate.blogspot.com/ GFW

Is it too late to wish that he could learn to take as much care and self-respect in choosing people for his life like he does his beloved all-natural garments?

  • https://rememberingthedesireisprivate.blogspot.com/ GFW

Those are referred to as filter bubbles. Like-kind articles. There is a big controversy going on in the tech world about filter bubbles. They’re everywhere these days. If you look at Amazon, Netflix, or clothing sites, you’ll find ‘more of the same’ suggestions everywhere. That’s all well and good for the most part, but the complaint is it doesn’t provide for growth and exposure to new things. It’s a hot, hot, tech topic.

  • https://rememberingthedesireisprivate.blogspot.com/ GFW

So what? You do the same thing here presenting an unrealistic altered version of yourself. And look as once again you boast just how only you can be the only one who can save the actor, the man. Yet you fail to even broach the topic of his reaction to you, don’t you? Or do you? Approach avoidance disorder has you in full scale lock-down.
PS, you lazy judgmental jerk, had you seen the film you’d understand why his look was appropriate and how he meant what he said when he used that descriptive explanation. PSS, You also have no clue as to how Butler is or is not taking care of himself whatsoever.

  • https://rememberingthedesireisprivate.blogspot.com/ GFW

Exactly. Plus his character was a mass of destructive self-harming contradictions and obsessive-compulsive traits that coppers become enmeshed in in order to focus, almost Autistic like, on their subjects. But why address someone who doesn’t even bother to see his films and whose knowledge of the business is limited to ’72 Disney type film-making and whose tone is superior, sanctimoniously unrealistic. How can she even offer an opinion? Chide is all she does.

You either love someone or you don’t.

  • Speechless

I totally agree with you. He is bankable and in demand. And it can also be true that he is not always sober.

  • Speechless

I never thought this particular movie would do so much for Gerry’s career. It’s wonderful. I think his acting in it was a hell of a lot better than anyone expected. Although, I thought he was wonderful in Gamer too.

  • sassafrass

He’s still bankable thanks to the international market, let’s be real. They want loud fast-paced action pictures and don’t care much for the quality of them. GOE proved that.

  • Sunkist

Get off your High Horse, Sonia. I was Not “chiding” him. I was quoting his words “in a film”. He did not say “in my life”, but was speaking of his appearance IN THE FILM. My concerns relate to his appearance off set, like this thread.
I realize, it is difficult to understand context in these posts, but rather than constantly misjudge my intentions, you could ask me to clarify.
I was commenting on his appearance- in real life-, and how people react to it negatively in the media and on line, and that this cannot help but effect his career. And his “self-image”. He has been lauded for being handsome his entire life, but during his junket interview with A.J. Calloway, Gerard commented that he “did not have a pretty face”. My comment was a heart-felt observation. He Knows what is said of him, and cares.
Besides that, his unkempt look seems completely unnecessary. As I said, he is an extremely attractive man, but he recently, is usually satisfied to look “homeless”. There is a huge difference between that, and “casual”. Jmo. Posters on other sites commented how inappropriately he was dressed and groomed for the B.P. premiere/ screening. This, imo, is purposeful, not lazy, but it is not effective. It just makes him look bad, or ridiculous, like those sucking in his gut pics. Not necessary. I don’t know what is going on with him physically to make him bloat like that. It worries me. I really do not care whether you feel I have a right to my concerns, nor if I do not meet your criteria and conditions to have those concerns. You dislike me, and disapprove of my comments, both grossly unfairly. But enough. Done.

  • https://rememberingthedesireisprivate.blogspot.com/ GFW

In demand? Not always sober? I’m not too certain either claim is factual despite ‘class clown’ antics with co-stars. Granted, his performance in DOT has made others sit up and take notice (again) but I don’t even think he wants to be ‘in demand’ any longer. And bankable shouldn’t demand a certain type of role. Just my honest opinion. He seems to enjoy downtime far more than he does his work-time. Just an observation from watching him over the past 4, no, 8 years.
