Netflix's Upcoming 'Sabrina The Teenage Witch' Series Casts Miranda Otto as Aunt Zelda!

Netflix’s upcoming Sabrina The Teenage Witch series has found its Aunt Zelda in Miranda Otto!

The 50-year-old Homeland actress will play the role of Zelda Spellman on the upcoming show alongside Lucy Davis, who will play Hilda Spellman, as confirmed by Deadline on Tuesday (February 20).

The as-of-now untitled project will be based on the Archie Comics characters, and is set to reimagine the origin and adventures of Sabrina The Teenage Witch, who will be played by Kiernan Shipka.

This series promises to be “a dark coming-of-age story,” which will tonally be more reminiscent of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist.

Here’s a summary of Miranda‘s upcoming role: Proud and devout, Zelda believes there is no greater honor than serving the Dark Lord as a member of the Church of Night. She is the family’s disciplinarian, fiercely protective of Sabrina (Shipka), and very much Cain to Hilda’s Abel.
