Lena Dunham Says She Has 'About' 19 People Who Stop Her From Tweeting

Lena Dunham made two appearances at the 2018 SXSW Festival!

First, the 31-year-old actress stopped by the Authenticity and Media conference to discuss a variety of topics on Saturday (March 10) in Austin, Tex.

Later, she attended the Half the Picture premiere at the Alamo Lamar later that night.

During the conference, she spoke about being outspoken on social media.

“The way I safeguard is I have about 19 people who are, at any point, about ready to stop me from tweeting — many of them paid,” Lena told the crowd.

She also spoke about her hysterectomy.

“[Anna Wintour] said, ‘Take your time but we would love for you to write something.’ As I started to grow out of my 20s, I felt like I was experiencing this thing that was so massive and so lonely and so complicated physically and emotionally and I had no idea that I wasn’t the only person. The only people I knew who had had hysterectomies were, like, my 67-year-old grandmother,” she explained. “What I was so happy about was that I got to understand how many of us there were and how many women had been promised a version of their body that they didn’t get up getting,” Lena added.
