Angela Bassett Talks 'Real Life' Wakanda & '9-1-1' on 'The Late Show'

Angela Bassett took to Stephen Colbert‘s couch on The Late Show last night (March 13) and talked all about her experience with the “real” Wakanda, and what it took for her to get into acting.

“I’ve been asking for it,” the 59-year-old actress expressed about playing a Queen in her hit film Black Panther.

“People always ask you about what kind of role you want to play and I’ve always jokingly said, ‘I want to play a Queen’. Never thinking that I would and here it is, realized,” Angela told Stephen.

Angela also shares some secrets about the mysterious African nation Wakanda and talks about her role in 9-1-1, her new series about an LAPD sergeant as she responds to emergency situations – hence the title of the show.
