Blu-Ray and Digital HD Releases

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

The hilarious action comedy Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle comes out on Blu-ray and Digital HD today.

The film follows four high school kids who get sent to detention to only find an old video game system that transports them to the jungle of Jumanji as the game’s avatars. Their goal is to beat the game to get back to the real world or be stuck in the game forever.

It’s difficult to call this film a sequel to the 1995 film. In its own way, with a comedic cast including Dwayne Johson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black, the film stands on its own. It’s hilarious, unique, and surprisingly entertaining.

Extras in this release include a gag reel, a few featurettes on the making of the film, and a Music Video by Jack Black and Nick Jonas. The release also includes a Snapchat code for an augmented reality feature that takes you into Jumanji.

Even if you haven’t watched the original, you won’t miss a thing with this release. The movie is a pleasant surprise full of laughs, action, and just good ‘ol popcorn fun.

Pitch Perfect 3

The Bellas are back with the new release of Pitch Perfect 3 which hits shelves today.

In this musical film, we follow the Bellas as they’re working hard to make it in the real world. Frustrated with their current jobs and longing for the ‘good ol days’, the group reunite and join the USO.

Despite feeling a bit too much like the previous films, there’s plenty of musical numbers to jam on in this one. But overall, that may be a good thing as the musical numbers are easy to enjoy and fun to see how the Bellas have evolved since the first movie.

Presented in 1080p with DTS:X Master Audio, the film’s music really shines in this transfer.

Extras include tons of featurettes including additional music sets from the film, extended performances, deleted scenes, gag reels and more.

If you followed the Bellas up to now, this film is a solid pick up as it ties up everything is an enjoyable ending to the trilogy.
