Prince Harry & Meghan Markle's Wedding Invitations Have One Key Difference From Prince William & Kate Middleton's Invites

Fans have noted one main difference between the wedding invites sent out by Kate Middleton and Prince William for their 2011 nuptials versus Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s invites sent out for their May 2018 nuptials.

In 2011, Prince William and Duchess Kate‘s invitation began with the Lord Chamberlin being “commanded” to invite the guests.

“The Lord Chamberlin is commanded by the Queen to invite [guest's name],” the invite began.

With Prince Harry and Meghan‘s invitation, Prince Charles “requests” the company of the guests.

“His Royal Highness, Prince of Wales…requests the pleasure of the company of [guest's name]…” the invite reads.

Some other differences in the invitation include that Prince William and Duchess Kate‘s invitations were sent on behalf of the queen, while Meghan and Prince Harry‘s were sent on behalf of his father, Prince Charles.

In addition, Duchess Kate was referred to as “Miss,” on her invitation, while Meghan is referred to as “Ms.”
