Edward Norton's Production Company Sued Over Deadly Fire on 'Motherless Brooklyn' Set

Edward Norton‘s production company is being sued over the fire that took the life of New York City firefighter Michael R. Davidson on set of the upcoming movie Motherless Brooklyn on March 22, NY Daily News reports.

A tenant of the Harlem building where the fire occurred filed a $7 million lawsuit against the production company, Class 5 Films, and the building’s owner, Vincent Sollazzo, for maintaining “highly flammable equipment” on Tuesday (March 27), hours after Michael was laid to rest.

Erica Cruz – the tenant filing the lawsuit – blames the fire on Class 5 Films’ “recklessness, carelessness and neglect,” before saying her apartment was “completely destroyed.”

“When representative of Class 5, Inc. became aware of the fire, they did not warn the tenants in the building; in fact, they misled the tenants into believing there had been a fire that had been extinguished,” the lawsuit says. Erica went on to say that she suffered “severe and permanent personal injuries” and property loss due to the fire.

Edward has not commented on the lawsuit yet.
