“The fact that her and Prince Harry will be working a lot in the Commonwealth was something that I thought was really intriguing and could be something built on to be part of the day,” he said.

“We had different conversations back and forth and I came up with the idea of maybe representing each of the countries, the 53 countries of the Commonwealth, through their flora and fauna. We both loved the story of that. It also meant that single one of those countries also journeyed up the aisle with her. It was a really poetic moment.”

“She just loved it, absolutely loved it,” she added of Meghan‘s reaction to the idea.

The silk tulle headpiece featured hand-embroidered flowers from each of the 53 countries in the Commonwealth, as well as a few personal touches from Meghan, including Wintersweet, which grows in Kensington Palace, and California Poppy, the state flower of California.

Certainly doesn’t mean “virgin” or “purity”.

  • Casey C

women don’t wear white to represent virginity or purity, it was because Queen Victoria broke tradition to wear white because she had some white lace she wanted to wear on her wedding dress. it has never meant virginity

She just loved colonization, genocide and British supremacy is all I got from this. How did the common wealth happen Meghan? INVASION. 53 countries fill of independent people invaded, subjugated, exterminated, forcefully converted and reduced to poverty as their wealth was looted and the people dehumanized.

The diamonds you wore on your own head was literally blood diamonds if millions of people. Probably Afghanistan or India.

Why would that be ‘beautiful’ to her?!

    Psycho.

  • Cool Boots

I’m not sayin you’re right or wrong but this is what I found after I saw your comment.

Colors have different meanings and a blue wedding gown suggests femininity and purity, plus it symbolize stability, security and lifelong loyalty. White: White is associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity. It is considered to be the color of perfection.

  • Cool Boots

I thought the dress and veil were beautiful.

ikr!tell that to the millions that ‘worship’ these people!I have nothing against her & I like the idea that she’s a mixed race person but It’s sad that all this is paid by our hard earned taxes!

  • Casey C

the white was later taken to mean viriginity but that was never why women wore white originally. they followed the style of the Queen. the colour before for wedding gowns was never white. but QV changed the style. it was later bastardised to be about some mythic purity nonsense, but the resont that royal wedding gowns are white is entirely the tradition of QV nothing to do with some misogyny virginity nonsense

  • DEADP00L

Millions like all kinds of people, doesn’t negate the fact that at the end of the day, this was a completely tone deaf thing to do. She’s a token royal, just as clueless as any airhead in Hollywood to the consequences and legacy of the lifestyle she now lives.

  • Cool Boots

    That’s a fun fact. Thx.

  • Just Saying

That dress was unflattering for her, they really made an efffort for her to not look better than Kate Middleton did.

  • cuzjcacjo

veil and tiara were great, the dress was really bad. didn’t fit properly at all. and such heavy fabric.

USA was part of that commonwealth at one point.. we fought to be free of them & yet we still are obsessed with these Royals/Country. I had enough of this family already.
