Evan Rachel Wood Is Joining 24 Day Hunger Strike to Honor Children Separated From Parents Due to Immigration Policy

Evan Rachel Wood is using her platform to bring awareness to immigration policy at the border of U.S. and Mexico.

The 30-year-old Westworld actress traveled to Texas over the weekend to deliver supplies and meet immigrant families that have been released from detention and still awaiting their next steps.

“I don’t think it’s ever too late to want to make a change, and that’s why I’m here now because I want to learn,” she told People.

In addition to her donations and in-person meetings, Evan is participating in #BreakBreadNotFamilies, a 24-hour hunger strike and prayer chain that will last 24 days to honor the 2,400 children separated from their parents due to President Donald Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy.

“It’s a small price to pay considering what families are going through,” she says of her decision.

Wow🙄🙄 a whole 24 hours without food. Like she eats anyway. Does she know there are American kids who go to bed hungry every night? What? They don’t matter?

I was literally just thinking about how weird it is that the colour red can be used for good things (passion) and for bad things (anger). Doesn’t it just show how many sides there are too all things and how complicated all the symbols of life are? We are all mixed in so many ways. I like red, but I am surprised you have it in your kitchen! Does red help inspire some of your famous spicy dishes? Love your food!
