Zac Efron Is Still Sporting Dreadlocks as He Leaves for Road Trip with Brother Dylan

Zac Efron and his younger brother Dylan are “at it again” and heading out on a road trip.

“We’re at it again,” Dylan, 26, could be heard saying in a video posted to his Instagram Story, showing him and Zac, 30. Then, the camera panned to their packed vehicle and the serene landscape.

You’ll notice, in the video posted just a few hours ago, Zac is still sporting dreadlocks in his hair. Zac posted that he changed up his hair “for fun” earlier this week.

I love him but he looks a mess IMO. Hope they have a great time on their road trip

I’m not too concerned about his hair style but why so much hate over it? People jumped him right away for cultural appropriation but since when do dreadlocks belong to a specific race or ethnicity? Ancient Egyptians, Africans, Hindus, Australians, Native Americans, and even a large population of white hippies have all rocked dreads along with those most associated with dreadlocks; Rastafarians. I’m just not sure why this guy isn’t allowed to have whatever hair he likes.

I’m asking myself if we are able to survive Zac Efron dreadlocks untill the end of the month, remove it Zac!! We have ENOUGH!!! You are killing a lot of Tumblr snowflakes with this!!! Remove this so we will have nothing to be concerned about!

Dreadlocks have nothing to do with an specific race or culture, all the discussion about “cultural appropriation” was supposed to have something to do with the “emptying” of certain symbols, take the bindi for an example, it have some value in hindu religion, but if you use this as a costume or something for you aesthetic, it gets more complicated, because people will think the thing in your forehead is supposed to be something for your “fashion”

But like I said, it’s not easy to determine the value over a lot of things, an “earring” for an example, it could be a symbol with an specific value to a native clan in central America in XV Century, but today it don’t have the same meaning for everyone

An “turban” don’t have the same value to africans and people for middle-east, and it was used by europpeans in XVII century (anyway is not surprising that a lot of cultures share a type of cloth wrapped around the head, it’s not like a culture could claim this as something of his own)

People need to stop to treat cultural elements as individuals claiming copyrights

Its bigger than just “earrings” or “fashion”. It goes into how ppl are treated and how various things are taken by society. On Zac it looks cool and great. But on someone who is maybe of a darker skin tone they wear it and they are immediately dirty or drug addicts. His own costar Zendaya wore the same style and ppl were oline calling her all types of names and saying how she probably smelled and things. You attempting to explain it away shows the main issue. Your attempting to “explain” his right to wear his hair and telling ppl they are silly for having an opinion. Its deeper than that. Now if ppl were to say not treat others in the way they do when some ppl wear natural hair, bindi, dreads, and other things for spiritual or fun or whatever purpose then this wouldn’t be a discussion. But because ppl like you guys don’t see where the frustration is that won’t change. Not trying to be harsh, just explaining that there is evidence that this is deeper than just his hair. I love Zac i don’t think he meant any harm. I’m sure he’s off for a few months and exploring his new journey into the next chapter of his life. I’m sorry they hitting him like that. But i understand. Its best for him not to comment at all cause he will add to the fire
