Timothee Chalamet In Talks to Star In 'Dune' Film Adaptation

Timothee Chalamet may be joining the cast of Dune!

The 22-year-old actor is in talks to star in the upcoming film adaptation of the Frank Herbert novel, according to THR.

The 1960s novel tells the complex story of a fallen noble family’s attempt to control a desert planet named Arrakis and its export, a rare spice drug, while being betrayed by a galactic emperor.

Timothee would play Paul Atreides, the son of the ruler of the family who must escape to the desert wastelands to partner with its nomadic tribes. He becomes their messiah and leads an army to overthrow the empire.

The novel was first adapted into a film in 1984.

Production will reportedly start in early 2019.

Gay actors should not portray straight characters. Politically incorrect

He’s straight, and even if he were gay it shouldn’t matter. All that matters is that the actor is able to portray the role in a believable manner, and Timothee Chalamet is an incredible actor! Also, would you say that straight actors shouldn’t play gay characters?

The original is an all time favorite. I would love to see how it will be with modern CGI and special effects.
