FRANKIE Drops New Song 'When I'm Ready' & Talks Upcoming EP in Exclusive Interview!

FRANKIE has dropped a new anthem that will get you through the end of the year!

The 26-year-old singer has released her new song “When I’m Ready,” which will be featured on her upcoming EP STA7GES.

“When I’m Ready” is the final song that Frankie wrote for the EP and she says that it’s “a song about recovery” that she wrote following a tough breakup.

“It shows that I survived it all and appropriately as the title says, I’m now ready to share my story. To me its hopeful… an anthem for the dumpee’s,” she added.

Just Jared: Tell us about “When I’m Ready.” What is the song about and why are you releasing this one first?

FRANKIE: “When I’m Ready” is a song about recovery. I went through a really tough breakup last year after having an 8 year friendship/relationship with someone and experienced all stages of grief and healing which I documented in my songwriting. I specifically wanted to release this song first because its the last song I wrote for my upcoming EP, STA7GES, and my current state of mind. It shows that I survived it all and appropriately as the title says, I’m now ready to share my story. To me its hopeful… an anthem for the dumpee’s.

JJ: Tell us about STA7GES. How did you come up with the concept of your upcoming EP?

FRANKIE: Throughout this past year I’ve unintentionally documented my stages of grief in song form, from time of destruction to time of healing. I didn’t realize there was a clear theme to all these songs until I stepped back and heard the songs in order. I literally went through shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, testing and acceptance which is now the order of songs and stages on the EP. “When I’m Ready” is the last track, the 7th stage… acceptance.

JJ: What can we look forward to in the next few months?

FRANKIE: I’m going to release 2 more stages, or songs, before the year ends. The next stage will come out in November and another one in December! The full EP will come out at the top of the year… just in time for Valentine’s Day. I’m excited for everyone to hear these songs and to get them off my chest, into the world, and hopefully help others in similar situations. We can have a sing along together at shows next year.

JJ: Any other news worth sharing?

FRANKIE: Well, it’s been a full year of changes as I said earlier… I also recently parted ways with my label to become an independent artist. I’m really excited about doing this EP on my own and having control of my story and how I share it with my audience. It’s a new chapter in every sense of the word and I’m ready for it all.
