Probably should have done more to make sure Republicans didn’t keep the Senate. Then future deaths like their daughter’s could have been reversed.

Every lunatic who has a bad day goes out of there way to do mass shoting in the US it seems. Cant they just killed themselves ? Why would you want to take people with you ? Death isnt like a stroll in the park in the autumn its ugly and devastating.
RIP to all the beautiful souls that lost their young lives over this.

LOL stupidest thing I read all day. This has been happening long before even Sandy Hook, one of the worst mass shootings in our country ever.. and yet Obama was in office then and what was he able to change? NADAAA damn thing. It’s not a political thing in my opinion.. this was an ex US marine with a hand gun who committed this attack.. ban guns.. gun reform.. whatever you want to do but if someone wants to do something bad enough they’ll find a way.

That’s true for every lunatic in the world, isn’t it though? Yet you only see this kind of gun violence in the US. And the US also happens to be the developed country with the highest number of guns per capita. So don’t try to claim that there isn’t a correlation between the two because there certainly is one. And Republicans are the ones who get millions from the NRA so it is definitely a political thing. If Republicans didn’t control the Senate, Democrats would definitely be able to pass gun reform laws and gun violence would be reduced.

It isn’t only about passing new laws on paper but doing more to enforce the ones already in existence. There needs to be done about getting weapons off the streets. Those aren’t about “laws”. It isn’t a cure all but a start.
There is violence in other parts of the world and it’s sadly increasing.

I can’t stand Trump and do believe he riles the crazies. The problem though didn’t start with him nor will it end there I doubt.

Of couse it isn’t about passing new laws. They could pass hundreds of new laws but if they won’t make sure that they are enfored, it’s a waste of time. But you have to start somewhere. And you’re right, the problem didn’t start with Trump but it is because of him and Republicans that gun laws are consistently being loosened. So the problem will keep getting worse as long as people keep electing politicians who have received millions from the NRA.

There are some gun owners, even enthusiasts, who want more enforcement. It also puts their positions in jeopardy when tragedies like this happen.
I despise hunting. I’m not a gun person myself at all. I do though know some gun owners who are very responsible with their weapons. They are well trained, have gun safes, etc.

The biggest problem is enforcing what’s already out there. Street criminals don’t care what gun laws exist. Some Dems want to play social workers and treat offenders as patients rather than as criminals. I care more about pre programs rather than after care for the offenders. Penalities of any kind have not been proven deterrents.

Make street guns and drugs illegal and send in more police to make a huge difference. The need is there prior to crimes. After the crimes, the victims are those who were harmed by the criminals and not the offenders.

I hate the party system. It should never be one group against another. They should do away with the parties and make the candidates stand alone and especially on the ballots, just like those running to be elected judges. There will still be certain groups backing certain candidates but at least there would be a bit more of the in between and also more research on the part of the voters.
