Michelle Obama Opens Up About Suffering a Miscarriage

Michelle Obama is opening up about having a miscarriage about twenty years ago.

The former First Lady opened up about the experience in an interview on Good Morning America with Robin Roberts.

“I felt like I failed because I didn’t know how common miscarriages were because we don’t talk about them…we sit in our own pain, thinking that somehow we’re broken,” she explained.

“That’s one of the reasons why I think it’s important to talk to young mothers about the fact that miscarriages happen.”

The full interview will air during an ABC News special called Becoming Michelle: A First Lady’s Journey With Robin Roberts on Sunday, November 11 at 9 p.m. ET.
