John Boyega Reveals 'Star Wars: Episode IX' Timeline Information

John Boyega has reportedly confirmed some timeline information about Star Wars: Episode IX.

The 26-year-old actor spoke with Empire magazine and confirmed that the new movie takes place “roughly one year” The Last Jedi, meaning there’s a time jump coming in the new film!

The magazine excerpt reads, “Under the working title ‘trIXie’ John Boyega has confirmed the film takes place roughly one year after the events of The Last Jedi. By the end of The Last Jedi, the Resistance is practically able to fit around the holochess table in the Millennium Falcon, which suggests a different type of warfare for Episode IX. Isaac has compared the new rag-tag band of the Resistance to ‘the guerrilla fighters in Cuba…It’s that kind of ragged at this point.’”

The movie is set to be released on December 20, 2019.
